The Caper Bush is a slow to mature bush that thrives in Hot and Dry conditions. This evergreen perennial shrub has rounded fleshy leaves and large pinkish-white flowers, the young flower buds are edible. The Caper Bush needs a hot and dry climate and benefits most when good compost and lime is added to the soil before planting. Keep watered until established, once established, requires little water.
Stratify seeds prior to sowing - pre-soak the seeds over night and let them dry slightly. Place your seeds in a resealable plastic bag in your fridge for approximately 20 days. Stratification involves exposing the seeds to a period of cold temperature which for some species helps to break dormancy and spur the seeds to germinate.
Sow Caper bush seeds in warm weather of approximately 20-25°C.
